METHODOLOGY OF MUSHROOM CULTIVATION

  • Initially Sir have explained about the raw material required for the cultivation like paddy straw
  • He demonstrated different types of sterilization techniques such as chemical as well as heating sterilization techniques.
  • He explained different types of Mushroom species suitable for different seasons.
  • He demonstrated the different phases of mushroom cultivation
  • He explained about pathology in Mushroom cultivation
  • He explained about the temperature and all physical parameters which influence the growth of mushrooms.
  • Finally, he demonstrated the procedure to harvest the Mushrooms.

 

HANDS ON TRAINING:

  • In afternoon session students and faculty involved in preparation of culture room
  • Sterilization of culture room with 10% Formaldehyde or Isopropyle alcohol
  • Paddy straw is sterilized with alcohol of bawastene
  • After sterilization poly propylene bags are filled with sterilized paddy straw
  • straw and the spawn are kept in polythene bags in sequential layers
  • Spawn filled bags are kept in sterilized culture room
  • Incubation period is 21 days at 30 degrees in dark for vegetative growth after that clay soil is sterilized and is ready to keep it in bags for fruiting bodies
